Cake Pops

Cake pops are delicious, typically American balls of cake, perfect for recovering those little pieces of leftover cake. I tasted them for the first time in one of those beautiful American bars, huge, full of delicacies of all kinds.

I saw those lovely chocolate-covered balls in a shop window and I fell in love with them, but only after taking the first bite did I feel the purest love. How could I not do them again at home? Very easy to prepare, with sponge cake or dry cakes, these lovely sweet meatballs are made even more delicious and creamy by the use of the irresistible Nutella, but also jam and your favorite creams.

They are delicious to serve at a birthday party to charm every greedy child and, or to give as a gift enclosed in a pretty package.

Ingredients

  • Leftover cake (for example Sponge Cake)
  • Jam, Nutella, Pistachio Cream
  • Chocolate (dark, milk or white)
  • Chopped pistachios, hazelnuts, aldmonds
  • Colored sugars

Instructions

  • To prepare these very easy but enchanting cake pops, perfect for recovering leftover cakes, you will first have to crumble your cake, whether it is a sponge cake or a dry cake, for example I have prepared them with a carrot cake.
  • Then add a few tablespoons of jam, or your favorite cream and mix all the ingredients. The result must be a sticky but compact compound, suitable for making meatballs.
  • Now form balls, skewer them with a toothpick and arrange them on a plate.
  • Put them in the freezer for an hour.
  • In the meantime, melt the chocolate you like best in the microwave or in a bain-marie. Remember that to melt the chocolate in a bain-marie you need to heat it in a pan about 2-3 fingers of water wide and place a small bowl of chocolate on top. The water must never boil and must never touch the bowl.
  • Once the meatballs have cooled down, soak them in chocolate and then decorate as desired with chopped nuts, or with sugars, but also with rapé coconut! In short, give vent to your imagination.
  • Arrange your cake pops on a well-spaced rack with the toothpick facing down. Let it cool in the freezer for another half hour.
  • When serving these delicacies, leave them out of the freezer for 3 minutes so that they are soft and tasty like chocolates. Enjoy your meal!
